I’m Emily, a Sydney-based Accredited Practicing Dietitian with a passion for plant based nutrition.

Growing up, I always had an interest in health. For as long as I can remember my parents have followed a predominantly plant-based diet, and to this day run a health clinic promoting this way of eating. Whilst I was immersed in a plant-based way of life growing up, I soon realised that this was not a typical childhood! As I got older and went on to study a bachelor of nutrition at university, I was able to dive deeper into the science behind a plant-based diet, and was left wondering- ‘why don’t more people know about the incredible health benefits of a plant based diet?’ The turning point for me came in 2017, when I attended an international plant based nutrition conference in the United States.

Hearing some of the most amazing speakers talk on the power of plant based nutrition to not only prevent but also reverse chronic disease in some cases was beyond inspirational- my career path was laid out for me. I came back to Sydney and straight away signed up for a Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics. The plants made me do it!

Fast forward to 2021 and I am now a plant-powered dietitian, with the dream of making plant based diets the new normal. I have come a long way in my journey- from a plant based purist to a now much more balanced realist just promoting the power of plants. And while I was initially drawn to a plant based diet based on an understanding of the health benefits, I have also become increasingly aware of the environmental and ethical considerations following a plant based diet addresses, which further strengthens my commitment to this way of living.

My goal is simple- I want to help people eat a diet that promotes health and longevity, whilst minimising the chance of developing chronic disease. A plant based diet allows us to achieve this. For me, it’s not just about helping you eat a balanced plant based diet and ticking off the nutrient boxes. It is about helping you live your healthiest, most fulfilling life whilst fueling your body with optimal nutrition. I truly believe that adopting a plant based diet is one of the single most powerful changes we can make to positively influence our health. And I am here to help!
